Can You "Translate" What AI Suggests?

When you ask an AI coding tool "I want to undo this change," it'll often reply with something like git reset --mixed HEAD~1. Do you run it without really understanding what it does?
The question is whether you can translate it in your head: "Undo the commit and rewind the staging area, so changes stay in the working tree." This ability to translate changes everything about working with AI. Because AI says wrong things with just as much confidence as right things.
For example, when AI suggests git reset --hard, you can think: "Wait, I have uncommitted changes here. --hard is too dangerous. --mixed is enough."
To use AI effectively, first understand things yourself. That order matters.
